MAC Announces Men’s Soccer Preseason Poll; Season Begins Aug. 29

On Tuesday afternoon, the Middle Atlantic Conference announced the Coaches’ Poll ahead of the 2025 season.

NEWTOWN, Pa. – With preseason practicing starting this week around the conference for all Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) member institutions, the MAC releases the annual men's soccer Coaches' Poll ahead of the 2025 season. The Lions were picked eighth overall.
 
Albright heads into the 2025 season with a familiar face on the sidelines in long time tenured head coach Pat Stanco. Coach Stanco will be on the sidelines with fellow coaches Greg Glembocki and Kenny Horning.
 
The Lions season will officially get underway on Friday, August 29th on the road against Penn State Berks. The Lions began their season in 2024 with a 4-0 win over Penn State Berks at home. The team's home opener is set for Saturday, September 6 against Valley Forge, a team the Lions defeated 5-1 a season ago.
 
In total, Albright will play in 10 total home games, including four of the seven MAC Commonwealth matches on their home turf. Senior day is set for the last game of the regular season against Alvernia at home at 7 p.m.
 
Messiah led the way in the Coaches' Poll receiving all seven first place votes. York was placed in second while Widener rounds out the top three. Alvernia took home the fourth spot while Eastern, Stevenson and Hood were tabbed as fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. The full preseason Coaches' Poll can be found here
