MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Arthur Poindexter of the Albright football team was named to the D3football Team of the Week. Poindexter set career highs in receptions in receiving yards in the teams dominating 35-9 victory over Widener. Poindexter is the first Albright Lion to be named to the D3football Team of the Week since 2017.

This past Saturday, Albright picked up their second win of the season with a 35-9 victory over Widener at home in the 74 annual Rajah Shrine Pretzel Bowl.

Poindexter could not be stopped all afternoon in the receiving game. By halftime, Poindexter had already amassed 10 receptions for 173 yards.

By games end, Poindexter finished with 15 receptions for 231 yards and two touchdowns. The reception total was two shy of tying the program record and the yardage total was 14 yards shy of tying the program record. The stat line resulted in Poindexter being named the Pretzel Bowl MVP.

Through the first four weeks of the season, no one has been better than Poindexter at wide receiver. He leads the Middle Atlantic Conference in receptions (41), receiving yards (572) and touchdowns (6).

Nationally, the sophomore wideout leads the country in receptions and is second in receiving yards.

Albright football is on a bye in week five before returning to action on Saturday, October 11 at cross town rival Alvernia. Kick-off against Alvernia is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
