READING, Pa. – Coach Ferry and the men's basketball team will open postseason play against the Spartans from York College. Albright earned the two seed in the playoffs, going 12-2 in the conference in 25-26. The Lions took both games against the Spartans in the regular season, one of which being an 87-81 road victory when the Spartans were ranked 25
th in the country.

ABOUT ALBRIGHT
The Lions are currently riding a program best 12-game winning streak, all in conference play, and are playing their best basketball of the season. Albright enters this matchup 8-4 at home this season.
The Lions' scoring has consistently improved throughout the season averaging 81 points per game which ranks third in the MAC Commonwealth. Albright's offense begins with senior guard
Qadir Mitchell who is one of four players to be averaging double digit points.
Mitchell finished the regular season in fourth in per game conference scoring (21.1) and second in made three pointers (65). Mitchell has scored 10 or more points in every game this season and became the 42
nd Albright player to join the 1,000 point club in the team's victory over Stevenson last week.
In addition to crafty scoring, the Lions have brought a physical presence in every game this season on both the offensive and defensive ends of the glass.
Seniors
Chase McWhite and
Phanique Dupree both rank in the top five in rebounds per game. McWhite is averaging over eight rebounds (8.8) while Dupree also went on to lead the conference in blocks for the second time in as many seasons.
Jeremiah Stanton has been the main distributor for the Lions all season and finished third in the conference with 5.3 assists per game in addition to averaging a career best in scoring with just under 13 points per game (12.8).
ABOUT YORK
The Spartans enter the tournament as the number three seed and lost their regular season finale to Albright by a score of 77-61. The Spartans had won three straight games prior.
Senior guard Jayden Rowe serves as the go-to option for York on offense and finished second in the conference averaging 25.4 points per game in addition to 32 steals and 45 blocks. Cooper Haberern serves as a dangerous perimeter scorer and led the conference in made three pointers (86) by a considerable margin.
Tate Landis is a valuable two-way piece for the Spartans and ranked second on the team in scoring (13.6) while sitting in the top 10 amongst conference players in steals averaging just under two per game (1.7). Landis also led the Spartans in assists.
As a team the Spartans held their opponents to 71.8 points per game which was good for fourth in the conference. York also sits thirds in the conference in offensive rebounds and have benefitted from second chance opportunities all season.
