MALVERN, Pa. – Men's golf opened play at the Swarthmore Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The field consists of elite competition playing at White Manor Country Club. After 18 holes the Lions sit in 14th place with a day one score of 320.
RESULTS
The invitational will be 54 holes in total with the first 18 holes being played today and rounds two and three being played tomorrow. Franklin and Marshall is ranked #39 and Swarthmore is ranked #46 as the two highest ranked teams in the field. In total, there are seven teams in the field ranked inside the top 100 nationally.
A total of 16 teams are featured in the invitational accounting for 83 total golfers in action. Today's conditions were fare overall, having mostly sun shining throughout the day.
Charles Bailey led Albright with a round of 76. Of the nine rounds played in the fall and spring seasons Bailey has shot in the 70's six times. Bailey ends round one in T19 place.
Nontaphat Veeratecha played well throughout his 18 holes finishing with an 80. Veeratecha got his round under control on the back nine having seven pars over his last nine holes played.
Jonatan Liljeblad shot an 81 in round one. Liljeblad was solid on the back nine playing the holes at two over par which included a birdie on the par four 16
th hole.
Jason DiRita finished two strokes behind Liljeblad with a round of 83.
Chris DiRita was the fifth Lion in the lineup and finished with a round of 85.

Albright will play two rounds tomorrow. The team will tee it up in the morning in play throughout the day at White Manor Country Club.
