Mustangs Charge Past Men's Soccer

Box Score

OWING MILLS, Md. - A four goal first half proved to be the downfall for the Lions (2-4-2) as they fell to Stevenson University (4-3) by the score of 5-0 Saturday afternoon at Caves Complex.

The Lions coming off a 5-1 victory over Penn State Berks on Thursday, looked to keep their winning ways going against the Mustangs.  Unfortunately despite totaling nine shots in the contest, the Mustangs offensed proved to be more efficient.

Trying to spark the red and white against Stevenson was sophomore forward #Mark Yost#.  Yost, who has one goal and one assist on the season, tallied three shots.

All nine of the Lions shots came in the second half, after not producing a single shot in the first 45 minutes of play.  Stevenson took advantage of their 10 first half shots with four goals.  Two of their first four scores came in the opening five minutes.  They then added their final two scores of the first half in the 18th and 26th minutes.

Stevenson's final goal was scored midway through the second half.  Albright goalkeepers #Billy Howard# and #Ryan Barr# combined for three saves respectively.

Albright also produced two corner kicks, while the Mustangs tallied five in the non-conference match.

Men's Soccer will look to get back on the winning track this Wednesday when they host Goucher College at 7 p.m. in Shirk Stadium.  Wednesday's game will also be broadcasted on the internet for free.  To listen into the game go to http://www.broadcastmonsters.com/Albright/albright092309.asx.
